DIY Rear Storage Rack

Measurements were taken around the rear cargo space before necessary material preparation. I have decided to make the rack height around 25cm so that when the passenger seat is extended, it is almost the same height with the platform. This will allow me to extend our sleep space up to 2mtrs long. The wooden support were both nailed together with angled brackets supporting it.

Adding the completed storage box and mobile kitchen box

when the passenger seat is upright, a section of the platform is placed back so that we have more rear storage or seating space.

After all is completed, the final work will be laying the tiled carpet. I chose tiled carpet for the reason that if there any is damage or soiled, that certain piece can be replaced without removing all the carpet. Wooden support were taken from scrap heap, a single plywood 4ft x 8ft x 8mm were cut into pieces upon request by the B&Q staff. Tiled carpet was purchase from Carrefour. Total material cost was around US30.

Did I mentioned? My Leatherman Juice Xe6 sawed all the scrap wooden frame work.
