BOV Battery Setup

After the completion work on the battery isolator combo, I finally found an ideal place to store the battery. The storage box that I made was big enough to fit the battery inside but there is some work need to be done.

The battery connectors was in way and it could not fit the battery with the connectors on. I ended sawing away the bolt of the butterfly nut.

Using a 22mm drill bit which was intended to for the cigarette charger, I used it to make a hole on the side of the storage box

Battery fitted inside storage box with room to share. The wires are connect to the battery clamps with 30A fuse inside the storage box.

The positive cable rans under the carpet and connects to the battery isolator combo in the battery compartment. The negative is grounded to the the vehicle chassis

Found an ideal location to install the cigarette charger, the space between the seat belt mechanism have enough room to fit the 20A fuse and cigarette charger. 22mm drill bit was used to make a hole for the cigarette charger and a heavy duty cutter is used to cut a hole for the fuse.

From the aux cigarette charger, the positive (red wire) is connected to the battery isolator combo. The negative (green wire) is grounded to chassis.

Overall the work was easy, took almost an hour. Tested the setup, aux battery is charging when the engine is running and the aux cigarette charger works perfectly.

Next work is to ran a wire from the battery isolator combo to the existing driver seat cigarette charger where I connected a temperature, volt meter display to check the aux battery voltage. But first need to check the vehicle wiring.
